Using Social Bookmarking For SEO

January 15, 2010

There is no denying that using social marketing is a great way to get more traffic to your site. However, most people use these services completely wrong and, in most cases, in a spammy manner.

If you write a blog post and then just simply mass submit it to social bookmarking services using automated software, then you are doing it wrong. If your social bookmarking accounts contain nothing but links to your own site, then you are doing it wrong.

Social bookmarking is all about being “social”. It is all about sharing great resources that you find across the internet with other. Simply plugging your own content is not “social”.

I would go into a big explanation here about how to properly use social bookmarking services for seo benefits but I do not need to. Why? Because Michael Campbell has done it for me.

Michael has been marketing online for years and is a pioneer in the industry. He recently decided to give away one of his best strategies for SEO called “Jiggling the Web”. I have tried it and it words like crazy.

Michael is giving away the strategy for free. And I mean really free. No optin, nothing to buy, no strings attached. Why would he do this? Because he is being “social” and creating a buzz. At the time of writing this his site has already been tweeted about 70 times and it is all over social bookmarking sites. And over time tons of free one-way links are going to pour in to his site from all across the web.  Pretty smart, huh.
