I just ran across a great article that detailed 5 easy ways to boost your AdSense earnings. Here is a quick summary a couple of the tips that I though were most benefical:
1. Pick the right ad format. The article suggested using the 336X280 format and I agree as I have always got the best CTR with that ad format.
2. Choose the right colors. If your site has a white background then your ads should also have a white background. If the links on your site are blue then the links in your ads should be blue. You want your ads to match your site as much as possible.
3. Placement. You always want to make sure that your ads are in the prime real estate on your site. In most cases this means above the fold and I usually like to surround them with my content. Do try to hid your AdSense ads, if you do no one will ever click on them!
